It's the first time that the Italian community has a voice in Cambridge and the programme is full of interesting tips to help children with this special gift....and it's not just about learning a new language, it's about the culture too.
These days it's vital that children understand our multicultural society, mix and understand others of different cultures. Let me have your stories or views: I am sure this will be great for others to know and most families worried about their children's difficulties at school to begin with, will soon realise it's a temporary thing as bilingual children are so much faster at problem solving.
Read on one of the experts in the field Professor Antonella Sorace, University of Edinburgh, who set up a fantastic resource for Bilingualism Matters. I'll be meeting her for dinner next Tues and will let you know more about what advice she has for us.
Keep speaking your language, no matter how remote, to your child and give them this fantastic gift.
